History: Matt Coneybeare and Michael Keeth were in a previous band called "Force of Nature" and decided to leave to start their own project. Ben Maitland-Lewis, the drummer of "Force of Nature" quickly decided he wanted in on the project. After finding Elexis Becken on Bass, the four of them titled themselves "Ultraviolet" and gigged locally. Later renaming themselves "Phallus" to generate attention, the group developed a small local following. Coneybeare had decided to leave the group to go to UC Berkeley so the group hired Dennis Bateman to fill his shoes. Coneybeare was only gone for one year and returned to "Phallus" to make it the five-piece power it is today. They have played shows in all of Southern California and Arizona and have developed a huge following. They have t-shirts, CDs, stickers, tattoos and much more.
